Dear Dean Swearer:

I am a junior in the CD department at Parsons and I have recently heard about the plan to close down the printmaking labs in our building to expand the cafeteria. As a student of this school, I think you are making a huge mistake, the printmaking lab serves as a creative elective to our studio classes in which as a student I can explore my creativity without succumbing to societal standards. I have not yet taken a printmaking course but intend to do so because as a CD major I feel that it is ESSENTIAL to my education. I also am aware of the fact that our department often relies on printmaking courses when there is an overflow of students in our studio courses. Please listen to the petitions of your students!!! Don't close the printmaking department!!
